Whether for community, for workplaces, or volunteers - our approach to designing and running courses is the same.

1.Your experience is valued.
This informs all course content and design, as well as how we run the courses.

2. Our own knowledge about how human learn, adapt, be curious, be reflective is valued.
We have been teaching and researching, designing and delivering impactful courses for over 30 years in universities and community organisations.

3. You will learn. Participate in role models and scenarios. Practice amongst each other. Reflect.
This is experiential learning, that supports you to make sense of information so that you can learn, grow, build confidence and feel empowered to change things in their own lives. It is experiential learning and reflective practice - highly evidenced and impactful approach to teaching and learning.

4. You may feel vulnerable, you will feel safe.
The learning environment is grounded in psychological safety, enabling participants to engage with vulnerability as a necessary part of self‑reflection and growth.

COURSE: HUMAN CONNECTION
Communication and Connection for Friendships
Perhaps you are a carer. Divorced or separated. A widow. Or a single parent. An empty nester. A teen. Or left school and feeling at a bit of a loss.

Feeling awkward or ill at ease with others? Wondering what to say when you meet someone? Wanting people in your life who care about you to share everyday moments with?
We all experience loneliness at some point in our lives. Loneliness is an absence of meaningful relationships or connection with others. Whether friends, romance or connections with people we work with. Loneliness feels painful. And it impacts on us in so many ways.
Each course has small class sizes so they feel safe and comfortable.

They have been carefully designed by listening to stories of many people just like yourself who have spoken about the kinds of barriers they experience when wanting to communicate with other people. There is no formality - it feels kind of like sitting around and having a very comfortable chat!

You will learn practical skills including:
-
starting up and finishing a conversation
-
entering into an existing group conversation
-
etiquette and safety about sharing personal information
-
dealing with feelings when the conversation goes belly up
-
identifying what great stuff you bring to the conversation -and finding your confidence to be the real, authentic and awesome you!
-
taking the next step - should you? How, where, and when.

You will be learning, practicing, sometimes feeling awkward, sometimes laughing, often listening to others in the group. But know that you will always feel supported and encouraged.
And absolutely always able to be "you".
