Whether for community, for workplaces, or volunteers - our approach to designing and running courses is the same.
1.Your experience and knowledge is valued. It is at the centre.
It informs all course content and design, as well as how we run the courses.
2. We tap into our own knowledge about how human learn, adapt, be curious, be reflective.
We have been teaching and researching, designing and delivering impactful courses around mental health, community development and leadership for over 30 years in universities, alongside communities and for organisations.
3. You will learn. Participate in scenarios. Practice amongst each other. Reflect.
This is experiential learning, that supports you to make sense of information so that you can learn, grow, build confidence and feel empowered to change things in their own lives. It is experiential learning and reflective practice - highly evidenced and impactful approach to teaching and learning.
4. You may feel vulnerable but you will feel safe.
The learning environment is grounded in psychological safety, enabling participants to engage with vulnerability as a necessary part of self‑reflection and growth.
WELLBEING, POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH & CONFIDENCE BUILDING
Capacity Building Courses and Bespoke Team Building Sessions for Community, Workplaces & Volunteers
The strongest learning happens when people feel seen for who they are, valued for what they know, and supported to grow beyond what they thought possible.” Kylie, Founder, Janteloven
" I want to tell others that this is the best course I have ever done. Each day I am practising some of the things I learnt, and I can honestly say that I feel so much more comfortable talking with people now. I have even made a new friend!" Dahlia, Human Connection Course
"I figure I know the basics of writing a grant application. But - how can I write one that might stand a chance of winning some funding? I learnt about how to weave my organisations story into my application so that it stands out, and tells a story that will make people sit up and listen. Learning about this has made all the difference" Jen, Grant Write It Win It Course
" Kylie is just amazing. She put us all at ease, we learned so much but it didn't even feel like we were in a lesson. It's just the way she has with people. I have enrolled in the course a second time because I want to keep learning about my own mental health, practising and this feels like the best place to do it!" Mohammad, Human Connection Course
" The best thing about this course was that I realised that the words I use in everyday conversations, and even the way I say them, sometimes impacts on people in ways I hadn't even realised. I didn't know the meaning of "strength based" approaches but I can see now that making even small changes in how I speak with my staff actually builds their own confidence and sense of control - I guess we all want that if I am honest with myself" Jaydn, Flip the Script Course

Communication & Connection for Friendships

THE HUMAN SIDE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY
Bespoke, industry relevant psychosocial training for teams
This 2.5 hour workshop contextualised for your industry and workplace environment explores psychosocial safety beyond legislation and compliance, focusing on what it genuinely means for people to feel safe, supported and valued at work.
While understanding psychosocial hazards, legal responsibilities and compliance is necessary, creating psychologically safe workplaces ultimately comes down to skills, ethos and knowledge around leadership, culture and human connection.
This workshop has been designed to introduce teams to legislative and compliance requirements, and then gently move participants into a person-centred approach to psychosocial safety, building understanding of the psychology of mental health and the conditions that allow people to speak openly, be vulnerable, ask for support, and feel psychologically secure within their teams. Practical, with industry relevant examples around systems, practices and cultures.
